The 16TN tweeter was designed with a small form factor in mind. It finds its best use in applications where the baffle space is limited. It is a high performance, high frequency device with extended HF frequency range well over 20kHz. .

Diaphragm Assembly
The driver features a 16mm Poly-silk diaphragm formed as single piece with suspension. The dome rests on plastic carrier that also consists two mounting holes.

The dome is carefully attached to a 16mm aluminum former voice coil. Further, a common sized connector is used. Optionaly, the connector can be replaced by another type that would suit the best your application, or completelly replaced by conventional fast-on terminals.

Magnetic system uses high-temperature grade neodymium, ensuring the longevity of this tweeter.

The 16TNX8-182 is a 0.6-inch neodymium silk dome tweeter rated at 5 W AES (10 W continuous) into a nominal 4-ohm load. Sensitivity is 82 dB (1 W/1 m), suited to systems with similarly moderate-sensitivity low-frequency drivers or active level-matched configurations. With a free-air resonance of 2,000 Hz and a 15.2 mm voice coil diameter, this is the smallest tweeter in the REDCATT range, intended for ultra-compact applications where baffle area is severely constrained. The neodymium motor assembly provides the lightweight, compact form factor required for weight-critical portable products and narrow-profile column speaker designs.

The frequency response is usable from approximately 2,500 Hz, rising to a flat plateau of 81-83 dB that extends through the audio band to 20 kHz with minimal variation. The impedance peak at Fs (2,000 Hz) is sharp and well-defined. The smooth high-frequency response with no significant resonance artifacts above the crossover region indicates a well-controlled silk dome assembly that is straightforward to integrate into passive crossover designs.

The driver is rated for 5 W AES and is intended for low-power consumer and light-commercial applications. A minimum crossover frequency of 2,500-3,000 Hz (12 or 18 dB/octave high-pass) is recommended to protect the driver. The 4-ohm nominal impedance requires crossover networks and amplifier channels rated for low-impedance operation. Good to use with compact woofers such as 4FRX4-322, 5FRX8-465A, or 20NFRX4-345A in small-format column, satellite, or soundbar speaker systems.

The 16TNX8-182 is suited for micro column arrays, miniature consumer 2-way loudspeakers, TV soundbars, ultra-compact PA satellite systems, and any application where driver footprint is the primary design constraint. The neodymium motor provides the lightweight build essential for portable and weight-critical system designs.
