The 075NCD compression driver is a high performance, high frequency device ideal for professional loudspeaker systems, high output hi-fi systems and after market car audio applications. The driver’s neodymium based magnetic circuit provides a robust, high force BL field, providing precision control of the Polyimide diaphragm assembly. The unit delivers the frequency response and high power handling through 0.75 inch exit throat.
Diaphragm Assembly
The driver features a 19mm Polyimide diaphragm formed as single piece with Polyimide suspension.
The dome is carefully attached to a high temperature Kapton voice coil former that withstands the long term power characteristics typically seen in professional applications. The acoustic output exits through a bullet phase plug and a 0.75 inch throat aperture. Nominal sensitivity is 109 dB 1watt / 1 meter.

The 075NCDX8-015 is a 0.75-inch neodymium compression driver rated at 20 W AES (40 W continuous) into a nominal 8-ohm load. Sensitivity is 100 dB (1 W/1 m), the highest output-per-watt figure in the REDCATT compression driver family for the smallest format, enabling very high SPL in compact, weight-critical systems. With a free-air resonance of 2,300 Hz and a 19 mm voice coil, this driver is optimized for use with small-format horns and waveguides in column speaker systems, portable PA satellites, and nearfield monitor applications. The neodymium motor provides the lightweight, compact assembly required for portable and weight-critical products. Horn exit diameter is 19 mm.

The frequency response rises from approximately 1 kHz, reaching a plateau of 98-108 dB in the 2-10 kHz band with a smooth, well-controlled response. The impedance peaks at Fs (2,300 Hz) and at the horn cavity resonance frequency above 3 kHz are both clearly defined on the impedance curve. The high sensitivity across the 2-10 kHz octave range enables very high SPL from minimal amplifier power, and the response remains usable to beyond 16 kHz with appropriate horn loading.

The driver is rated for 20 W AES and is suited for column speaker arrays and compact PA systems. A crossover frequency of 2,500-3,500 Hz (18-24 dB/octave high-pass) is recommended, applying the high-pass above the horn-loaded lower usable frequency. A short constant-directivity or waveguide horn of 60 degC-90 degC coverage is typically appropriate for the 19 mm exit. Good to use with compact 4-6-inch woofers or full-range drivers such as 5FRX8-465A, 61FHMX4-381, or 6FHMX8-152C in compact 2-way column PA satellite systems.

The 075NCDX8-015 is suited for compact PA column systems, nearfield monitor designs, portable PA satellite speakers, and column speaker arrays where the smallest-format compression driver with 100 dB sensitivity and neodymium motor is required for weight-critical or compact-baffle installations.
