Design Notes
25TF ferrite based tweter was design for high quality audio applications. It sports single piece poly-silk dome, formed together with surround. Furthermore, the magnetic system and dome sub-assembly is inbuilt into carrier that is later further assembled with our waveguide.
The magnetic circuit delivers robust and consistent B field. Its design has been FEM optimized and features small resonant chamber. All metal parts are coated for weather protection.
The dome is carefully attached to CCAW winding voice coil, wound on a Kapton former. Our precission adhesive dispensing ensures consistency and reliability of all our products.
This version of 25TF style tweeter shares all components with aluminum dome version 25TF. The difference is only the dome itself. While aluminum dome delivers crisp HF, the poly-silk dome is dampened in the high frequencies and has a smoother roll off. Each version has its own application, that perhaps depends on personal preferences of the audio engineer.
The best application of this device is in studio monitors, 2-way Hi-Fi systems as well as outdoor products.

Technical Summary
The 25TFX4-431B is a 1-inch ferrite silk dome tweeter rated at 10 W AES (20 W continuous) into a nominal 4-ohm load. Sensitivity is 89.5 dB (1 W/1 m). With a notably low free-air resonance of 1,000 Hz and a 25.4 mm voice coil, this driver provides an unusually wide crossover margin for a 1-inch ferrite dome, enabling crossover integration at frequencies as low as 1.5 kHz. The silk dome diaphragm provides smooth, neutral high-frequency character and well-controlled resonance behaviour above the operating range. The smooth frequency response characteristic makes this driver a practical choice for hi-fi and studio monitoring applications where a ferrite motor is acceptable.
The frequency response is usable from approximately 1,500 Hz, with a smooth flat plateau of 89-91 dB maintained from approximately 1.5 kHz to 20 kHz. The low Fs of 1,000 Hz produces a gently rising response from 1 to 2 kHz before the plateau, allowing low-order (first or second) crossover networks to achieve clean integration at frequencies below 2 kHz. High-frequency response extends smoothly to 20 kHz with no significant resonance peaks.
The driver is rated for 10 W AES and is suited for hi-fi bookshelf speakers, prosumer studio monitors, 2-way compact PA products, and column speaker systems. A crossover frequency of 1,800-2,500 Hz (12-18 dB/octave high-pass) is recommended to take advantage of the low Fs. The 4-ohm nominal impedance requires appropriate crossover network design for low-impedance loads. Good to use with 6.5-8-inch woofers such as 61FHMX4-381, 6FHMX8-152C, 8FHMX4-091, or 8FHWX4-382 in 2-way hi-fi or studio monitor designs.
The 25TFX4-431B is suited for hi-fi bookshelf loudspeakers, prosumer studio monitors, 2-way compact PA systems, and column speaker arrays where a ferrite 1-inch silk dome with very low resonance frequency, high sensitivity, and smooth response is required.
