The 180FCD compression driver is a very high-performance, high-frequency device ideal for professional loudspeaker systems, such as larger 2-way systems. 

Diaphragm Assembly
The driver sports a 44mm polyimide diaphragm formed as a single piece with the suspension. The voice coil is attached to the dome with our state of the art adhesives and precise bonding equipment.
The acoustic output exits through a circumferential phase plug and a 1.0-inch throat aperture. Nominal sensitivity is 109.5 dB 1watt / 1 meter.

REDCATT unique and precise adhesives dispensing, combined with our in-house developed dome treatments are further improving the long term reliability of this product.

The 180FCDPX8-330 is a 1.8-inch ferrite compression driver rated at 55 W AES (110 W continuous) into a nominal 8-ohm load. Sensitivity is 109.5 dB (1 W/1 m). With a free-air resonance of 1,100 Hz, a 45.7 mm (1.8-inch) voice coil, and a 28.5 mm horn exit, this driver provides high sensitivity, extended operating bandwidth, and the highest power rating in the 1.8-inch ferrite family. The robust ferrite magnetic circuit optimized for high Bl and the polymer diaphragm deliver consistent high-SPL performance at an accessible cost point. The large voice coil diameter provides the thermal headroom required for 55 W AES continuous drive.

The frequency response is usable from approximately 800 Hz with horn loading, with a broad flat plateau of 105-110 dB maintained from approximately 1 kHz to 15 kHz. The very high sensitivity of 109.5 dB and the 55 W AES power rating combine to deliver maximum acoustic output, making this driver well suited to high-efficiency large-format 2-way PA systems. The low Fs (1,100 Hz) provides crossover flexibility below 1.5 kHz.

The driver is rated for 55 W AES and requires high-power amplification for full-rated operation. A crossover frequency of 1,000-1,800 Hz (18-24 dB/octave high-pass) is recommended. The 28.5 mm exit is compatible with 1.4-inch and 1.8-inch family horn designs. Good to use with 15-inch or 18-inch professional woofers such as 15FINDX8-035, 15FPMX8-063, 18FINDX8-036, or 181XRX4-350 in 2-way high-power touring PA top and subwoofer-top system designs.

The 180FCDPX8-330 is suited for 2-way PA top cabinets, portable column PA systems, high-efficiency touring systems, and commercial installation products where very high sensitivity (109.5 dB), 55 W AES power handling, and the 1.8-inch format's extended low-frequency capability are the primary compression driver selection criteria.
