The 10NPM is a high efficiency, (95 dB 1watt / 1 meter) 10-inch mid bass woofer with incredibly linear frequency response characteristics, extreme high power handling capability while generating low harmonic distortion artifacts.-
The 10NPM uses a lightweight carbon fiber loaded cone assembly along with a precision double roll constant geometry surround. This combination provides remarkable strength, high efficiency and a excursion linearity of 7.5mm.

Magnetic Circuit
REDCATT engineers have developed a lightweight, inside-neodymium slug based magnetic circuit capable of delivering the highest level of performance providing a consistent, high integrity magnetic flux gap, ultra low distortion characteristic and high efficiency cooling system. The magnetic circuit design is optimized to generate the minimum amount of flux modulation, providing exceptional stability.

Technical Summary

The 10NPMX8-055 is a 10-inch high-efficiency neodymium mid-woofer designed for high-output professional two-way, multi-way, and line array systems requiring extreme sensitivity (97.5 dB 1W/1m), high power handling (400 W AES / 800 W continuous), and controlled low-distortion performance. It features a 3-inch CCAW voice coil on a glass fiber former, a carbon fiber loaded paper cone with a precision double roll constant geometry fabric surround delivering 7.5 mm peak-to-peak excursion linearity, and an inside neodymium slug motor optimized for minimum flux modulation and very low harmonic distortion. With a low Qts of 0.28 and strong motor force (Bl 18.3 T.m), the motor and suspension are optimized to maintain consistent performance at high drive levels, with controlled excursion and reduced thermal compression during long-term operation.

The driver requires active DSP crossover management in both configurations. In vented mid-woofer use, a high-pass filter in the range of 40-56 Hz (24 dB/octave Linkwitz-Riley) is recommended depending on enclosure tuning, with a typical crossover to a high-frequency compression driver at 1.2-2.5 kHz. In sealed midrange use, a high-pass filter in the range of 150-300 Hz is recommended depending on enclosure volume and system architecture. In both cases, the 400 W AES power handling supports sustained high-output operation with appropriate limiting.

This driver is particularly effective in large-format touring line arrays, high-output 2-way portable loudspeakers, multi-way point-source cabinets, and high-SPL installation systems where per-driver output, sensitivity, power handling, and low distortion are priorities. The inside neodymium slug motor, flux-modulation-optimized magnetic circuit, carbon fiber loaded cone, and aluminum basket provide consistent, durable performance in the most demanding professional touring and installation environments.

Recommended enclosure volumes are simulated results. For best enclosure volumes and tuning, we recommend secondary simulation and careful evaluation. Several rounds of samples and fine-tuning may be required for optimal results.
