Crafted with a fiber-reinforced paper cone assembly and a single roll rubber surround, the 101FHW is built for durability and performance. Its Nomex spider, featuring stitched tinsel wires, ensures long-lasting reliability even in high-powered applications. Enhanced back plate space and additional venting have been integrated to optimize power handling and cooling, making this woofer truly exceptional.

On the magnetic front, our REDCATT engineers have designed a cutting-edge ferrite-based magnetic circuit that sets a new standard for performance. The 101FHWX8-118D is a 10-inch hi-fi subwoofer driver rated at 200 W AES (400 W continuous) with a nominal 8-ohm impedance, designed for high-fidelity home audio, studio monitoring, and active bass management systems. Featuring a ferrite-based magnetic circuit with two aluminum demodulation rings, the driver provides low inductance, reduced flux modulation, and extended linearity throughout its operating range. The motor-suspension design is optimized to maintain consistent performance at high drive levels, with controlled excursion and reduced thermal compression during long-term operation.

The driver is intended for use with amplification of approx. 200 W AES (400 W continuous) into 8 ohms, with a recommended high-pass filter in the 18-25 Hz range for vented systems, depending on tuning frequency. Sealed active systems should incorporate a Linkwitz Transform targeting fc = 25 Hz, Qtc = 0.707 with appropriate power limiting below 25 Hz. Cone excursion increases rapidly below enclosure tuning in vented systems, and below the transform frequency in DSP-corrected sealed systems; active protection is essential.

The 101FHWX8-118D is suited for single-driver hi-fi subwoofers, 2.1 and multi-channel home theater systems, studio reference monitoring with sub-bass extension, and audiophile-grade active loudspeaker systems where low distortion, deep extension, and precise transient reproduction are required.
