The 202FCD compression driver is a high-performance, high-frequency device ideal for professional loudspeaker systems. The driver’s ferrite based magnetic circuit provides a robust, high force BL field providing precision control of the pure titanium diaphragm assembly. Featuring 1.4inch exit throat. The suspension is made of polyimide material, providing optimum control over the diaphragm movement. The design has been optimized to have a great level of performance at very affordable price levels. The drivers are suitable for 2-way and multi-way speaker systems.
Dome Assembly Design
REDCATT has designed the pure titanium dome to be bonded to the polyimide surround. This solution greatly improves the control of the dome pistonic motion, having a positive effect on the transient response.

With an exceptionally low free-air resonance of 500 Hz, a 76 mm voice coil, and a 36 mm horn exit, this driver provides the widest operating bandwidth in the 3-inch ferrite family. The pure titanium dome with polyimide surround delivers the stiffness required for extended high-frequency response from the large diaphragm while the ferrite motor provides a cost-effective alternative to neodymium designs at equivalent power handling and sensitivity. This driver is designed for applications where large-format compression driver performance is required at a budget-conscious cost point.

The frequency response is usable from approximately 500 Hz with horn loading, with an extremely flat and extended plateau of 100-108 dB maintained from approximately 600 Hz to 15 kHz - matching the low Fs of the 200FCDX8-049 and providing equivalent bandwidth at lower cost. Multiple impedance peaks at Fs and horn cavity resonances above 1 kHz confirm the wide operating range. The high-frequency extension to beyond 15 kHz makes this driver suitable for long-throw horn designs.

The driver is rated for 100 W AES and requires high-power professional amplification. A crossover frequency of 500-1,000 Hz (18-24 dB/octave high-pass) is recommended, leveraging the very low Fs to provide maximum coverage bandwidth.
