141FCDP

The 141FCD compression driver is a high performance high frequency device ideal for professional loudspeaker systems. It’s core is designed based on our very 140FCD model. In fact the dome assembly is shared between these two models. The driver’s ferrite based magnetic circuit was modified to fit applications with a limited space and lower budget. Furthermore, we have added mounting adapter with 1 3/8” 18TPI thread to easy and fast mounting onto the horn throats that incorporate this thread.
Diaphragm Assembly
The driver features a 36mm Polyimide diaphragm formed as single piece with Polyimide suspension. The suspension has designed and FEM optimized venting features to lover the harmonic distortion.
The dome is carefully attached to a high temperature Nomex voice coil former that withstands the long term power characteristics typically seen in professional applications. The acoustic output exits through a radial phase plug and a 1.0 inch throat aperture. Nominal sensitivity is 105 dB 1watt / 1 meter.

The 141FCDPX4-337 is a 1.4-inch ferrite compression driver rated at 30 W AES (60 W continuous) into a nominal 4-ohm load. Sensitivity is 105 dB (1 W/1 m). With a notably low free-air resonance of 900 Hz and a 25 mm horn exit, this driver provides a lower operating frequency than most 1.4-inch compression drivers and is suited to horn geometries that provide loading at 1,000-1,500 Hz. The 4-ohm impedance enables higher acoustic output for a given amplifier voltage swing compared to 8-ohm versions, advantageous in high-efficiency PA system designs. A plastic mounting adapter is included, enabling compatibility with horns of various throat dimensions. The polymer diaphragm on a 35.6 mm voice coil provides robust thermal performance at 30 W AES continuous.

The frequency response is usable from approximately 800 Hz with horn loading, with a broad flat plateau of 100-107 dB maintained from approximately 1 kHz to 15 kHz - one of the widest usable bands in the 1.4-inch family. The very low Fs (900 Hz) and broad flat response allow crossover integration at frequencies as low as 1 kHz with appropriate high-pass filtering. The impedance peak at Fs (900 Hz) is clearly defined on the impedance curve.

The driver is rated for 30 W AES into 4 ohms and is suited for 2-way PA tops requiring low crossover frequencies. A crossover frequency of 1,000-1,500 Hz (18-24 dB/octave high-pass) is recommended, leveraging the low Fs advantage. Good to use with 12-15-inch professional woofers such as 12NPMX8-054, 15NPWX8-016, 15FPMX8-063, or 15FINDX8-035 in 2-way high-efficiency PA top designs with low crossover points.

The 141FCDPX4-337 is suited for 2-way PA top cabinets, portable column PA systems, and commercial installation products where the low Fs (900 Hz), 4-ohm impedance, 30 W AES power handling, and included plastic mounting adapter enable flexible horn system integration at lower crossover frequencies.
