18FIND

The 18FIND is a high efficiency, (97 dB 1watt / 1 meter) 18-inch woofer with incredibly linear frequency response characteristics, high power handling capability while generating low harmonic distortion artifacts. The 18FIND uses a lightweight glass fiber loaded cone assembly along with a high excursion triple roll constant geometry surround. This combination provides remarkable strength, high efficiency and a peak to peak maximum excursion of 21mm.

Power Handling
At the core of the 18FIND is it’s voice coil technology featuring a composite Polyimide former material capable of withstanding peak temperatures in excess of 250C, well beyond the thermal requirements of modern professional audio systems.

REDCATT has implemented a silicone spider design to ensure long term shape memory, consistency and diminish anomalies associated with spider deterioration.

The 18FINDX8-036 is an 18-inch high-efficiency professional woofer rated at 1,000 W AES (2,000 W continuous) into a nominal 8-ohm load. Sensitivity is 97.24 dB (1 W/1 m), placing it among the highest-efficiency 18-inch drivers in the REDCATT range. The Qts of 0.42 reflects a balanced motor-suspension design that provides good cone control while maintaining usable output across its operating bandwidth, with vented enclosures strongly preferred for PA subwoofer applications. The 101.6 mm (4-inch) voice coil on a glass fiber former with copper windings and Polyimide insulation (250 degC rated) delivers the thermal headroom required for sustained 2,000 W continuous operation. The carbon fiber loaded paper cone and fabric triple-roll constant geometry surround ensure high mechanical stability throughout the rated Xmax of 5.85 mm (one-way linear). An optimized motor venting system provides effective thermal management during extended high-power use.

The driver is rated for approximately 1,000 W AES (2,000 W continuous) and requires high-power professional amplification. A high-pass filter in the 26-38 Hz range (24 dB/octave Linkwitz-Riley) is recommended depending on enclosure tuning, with excursion limiting below the port tuning frequency. Typical operating bandwidth is 28-120 Hz in professional PA subwoofer applications. DSP crossover management, peak limiting, and thermal protection are required for sustained high-power touring and installation use.

The 18FINDX8-036 is suited for touring PA subwoofers, fixed-installation bass cabinets, high-SPL single and multi-driver bass reflex enclosures, and outdoor sound systems requiring weather-resistant construction. The aluminum basket, silicone spider treatment, and optimized venting system provide long-term mechanical reliability under continuous professional use. The 8-ohm nominal impedance enables flexible wiring configurations for multi-driver subwoofer arrays.
