Design Notes
The 125FPM is a high efficiency, (97.6 dB 1watt/ 1 meter) 12inch woofer with incredibly linear frequency response characteristics, high power handling capability while generating low harmonic distortion artifacts. 125FPM uses lightweight and reinforced cone which movement is controlled by “M” shaped surround. The woofer cone is treated to withstand harsh environments and high humidity.
The 125FPM was design for its best use in the 2-way applications, where excellent midrange response is required. Speaker provides good low frequency extension and delivers seizable amounts of low frequencies.
The metal parts in the speaker are coated and tested to ensure extreme weatherization protection.

Technical Summary
The 125FPMX8-187 is a 12-inch professional mid-woofer built around a ferrite magnetic circuit with a 76mm CCAW voice coil wound on a glass fiber former and a carbon fiber reinforced paper cone treated for weather resistance, high humidity, and extended outdoor use. The M-shaped constant-geometry fabric surround and Nomex spider provide precise mechanical control across the operating band, while the aluminum basket supports structural rigidity in both permanently installed and portable professional enclosures. Sensitivity is 97.65 dB (1W/1m) / 100.0 dB (2.83V/1m) with a Bl of 17.2 T.m, supporting 300W AES / 600W continuous power handling. Qts = 0.31 reflects a low Qts, high motor strength design optimized to maintain consistent performance at high drive levels, with controlled excursion and reduced thermal compression during long-term operation.
- 15 L / 68 Hz - compact monitor or stage wedge; port ~137 mm physical; 13.1 m/s
- 20 L / 60 Hz - standard general-purpose 2-way PA; port ~130 mm physical; 11.6 m/s
- 28 L / 52 Hz - extended low-frequency; port ~121 mm physical; 10.0 m/s
Amplification of 300-600W from an 8ohm-rated power amplifier is appropriate, delivering a peak SPL of 122.4 dB at 1 metre (AES rating). A subsonic high-pass filter at the cabinet tuning frequency is mandatory given the 2.55mm Xmax - excursion rises steeply below the port tuning frequency and unprotected operation risks mechanical damage. Crossover to a compression driver or horn at 800-1000 Hz is required; cone beaming onset occurs at approximately 842 Hz and inductance rolloff begins at 1,119 Hz. Third or fourth-order crossover slopes are recommended to maintain controlled directivity above 842 Hz. A Zobel network (4.5ohm series with 31.6 uF, placed across the driver terminals) is recommended for passive crossover designs to compensate for voice coil inductance rise.
The 125FPMX8-187 is suited for compact vented 2-way PA enclosures requiring environmental durability and weather resistance; permanently installed systems in outdoor venues, arenas, and harsh-environment applications where humidity and temperature cycling would degrade standard paper-cone drivers; stage monitor wedges crossed to a compression driver or horn at 1.0 kHz; and portable PA systems requiring a combination of high sensitivity, controlled power handling, and extended service life in demanding conditions.

Recommended enclosure volumes are simulated results. For best enclosure volumes and tuning, we recommend secondary simulation and careful evaluation. Several rounds of samples and fine-tuning may be required for optimal results.
